Pick point is off

I loaded up Intellicad onto yet a second computer for occasional use.
Found something bad and wanted to correct it the other day.

Seems in this one computer the cursor with the little box is not
accurate. Whenever I center the little box over a line, instead some
line underneath the arrow will get picked for alteration. I have tried
it a few ways now, but it refuses to accept a line within the confines
of that little box. It will however pick up one a bit away, usually
under the arrow of the cursor.

How can I get the sensing point to readjust it self back to the box?

Could it be that you have "PolarTrack" and/or "SnapTrack" on? (I presume
that what you want is to use "Entity Snap"). Those two can be very
confusing if you don't know how they work, or if you are not aware that
they are on.

I know that BricsCAD comes with those two activated by default in a new
installation.

Not sure what you mean exacly. I am using 98, and cannot locate such
in the menu of items. Where would I check to see (and correct?) if
either of these are opened up now?

Hm, then I guess my answer was off the mark. I don't know when these
functions appeared, but i don't think they were present that early. My
experience with intellicad-software is mostly through using BricsCAD from
version 6 up to 8.

Still, have you checked your esnap-settings? Have you tried drawing a
simple line, and then snap to end-points or mid-point etc ?

Most problems seem to center around when I do a simple LIST and then
try and pick a line.

Guess I'm not much of help here. Except for unexpected (but not wrong)
snap behaviour when I have had polar snap or snaptrack accidentally
activated, I have not seen any problems with selecting items in BricsCAD.
Also I don't use the "arrow with box"-style for selecting. I always set up
my system to use "crosshairs" all the time, and also set the crosshair
size to 100% so that they extend across the screen. Should not really make
any difference, but you never know...
