Menu problems again

Each morning it is a surprize as to how Intellicad will appear. Most
often the menu got altered over night. Now, I essentially have none.
There is the standard FILE, EDIT, VIEW, INSERT, etc across the top, but
zero else. I can open up a drawing, but cannot close it without
rebooting. The buttons, typed in and other commands do not work
anymore.

#1, do I now need to reload Intellicad?

#2, how do I get rid of the morning surprize? I want the menu to remain
as last used, not a whole new one for each day.

A possibility might be the startup drawing is corrupted.

I would thing that a start up drawing would only apply to a brand new
opening. This problem is going on with projects (and drawings) that
were created yesterday, and day before, and day before that too. I tend
to do a little bit on numerous drawings each day.

I only ask because I had something similar with a previous version, only in
the "pro" version. "classic" was ok. It finally wouldn't start until I
worked out it had corrupted icad.dwg (without my touching it). It starts
with a startup dwg each time before you begin work on anything.

Humm.....

I found back-up tape with the version of most programs over weekend. I
asked it to reinstall, jsut in the ICAD area. It prompted me a few
times to verify any over writting. Including the Icad.dwg file. Overall
it now seems to be giving no surprizes in the mornings.

Only thing here is that I often work with folks now on Autocad. When I
bring in their drawings, or open up their drawings for an initital
check, I get their menu. On occasion, the menu they must be using has
no shut down or close out features, for that option is gone. I cannot
get out of the drawing editor. I have to Re-boot in order to get out. I
can import their drawing into an ICAD via XREF or INsert. Nothing
changes for me at this end.

I want the ICAD menu. Not some foreign one. How then, can I force ICAD
to open up and use only the ICAD menu? I would like it to hold to the
ICAD manu under All circumstances.

You might want to try setting icad.dwg to read only.

try typing >menu< at the prompt and see if you can load in your
intelicad menu file [autocad menu extension is .mnu, intelicad
menu extension is .icm]

George:

What you mentioned is what I have to do currently for every single
drawing. This gets tiresome rapidly. It automatically opens up a
dialogue box, and question asked as to what type of menu is desired.
The default Autocad, The Icad, or some custom. Before going too far I
then have to take the extra minute or so to tell system I want the Icad
version. 'fact is I want the Icad version ONLY when working in Icad.

I would like to have it not ask me the question, and set Icad as
default. Not some other menu.

=====================
In loading drawings you may have also installed or modified new
menues and/or lisp files

from the help file:

Automatic Menu Loading
The first time you start IntelliCAD, a default menu is loaded,
and the Automatic Menu Loading check box on the Options dialog
box is checked. The Automatic Menu Loading feature allows you to
load drawings with associated menus without overwriting the
default menu.

To turn the Automatic Menu Loading option off
Do one of the following:
Choose Tools > Options.
Type config and then press Enter.
Click the Display tab.
Clear the Automatic Menu Loading check box.
Click OK.
================
AUTOMENULOAD [IntelliCAD only]
When you open a drawing, determines whether the default menu or a
menu file associated with a drawing is loaded.

Type: Integer

Saved: In the registry

Range: 0, 1

Default: 1

[type in <automenuload> at command line to access]

==================
also see

(autoxload application list)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Automatically load the SDS™ application when one of its commands
is used.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This function returns associates a list of command names with an
application name. Then, when the user types a command name,
IntelliCAD searches for and loads the associated SDS file.

Example

Code Returns
(autoxload "routine" '("start" "run" "stop"))

You may also have had some sort of autorun finel installed or
your existing icad autorun lisp file modified.

I think the command you are lookig for is <menuunload>

Type in at the prompt. For additional information use the help
file and search on menuunload.
