What size do you plot?

I ran this through here once before, but maybe since then something has
been found out for I have the need to plot out very large drawings
occasionally. The size of about 36 inches by 200 inches. Can't do it in
Intellicad. They get cut off well short of that. For to do these large
ones, I have to export the drawing over to Autocad for plotting
purposes. I use Calcomp equipment and was informed by them that the
overall size limitation is MS Windows based, not a fault of Intellicad,
nor anyone else. H-P, OCE', Calcomp and everyone else equally gets
limited by this OS default.

Question is there any overriding driver which will enable the large
drawings to be run off? Am using Intellicad in both Windows 98 and XP.
Had been informed via Calcomp that this inborn size restriction does
not exist within the original Windows 95 OS, but then do not want to
attempt to use Intellicad within Win95.

I have never had the need so I don't know if it would work, but you could
try and plot to a .PLT file then copy it to the printer port in DOS. "copy
xxx.plt lpt1:" It certainly works with my HP plotter and W98, but not sure
whether it chops off long plots. (Finally a benefit for users in Acad's
exclusive drivers!)

Yupp. Tried that.

To make a PLT file, you need to stay within Windows just long enough to
create it. It must be somewhere along the line in which that length
limitation gets inserted into the code.

I had run Intellicad under ME and the drawings consistantly got cut off
at 50 inches. Within W98 it is about 62 inches. In XP it went down to
48 inches long.

I just wish the Acad drivers would work within Icad.
